Kuala Lumpur, 7th July 2010 – A group exhibition that brings together artists from countries in Southeast Asia, “ArTriangle” was held at the Third Floor, National Art Gallery (NAG) and was launched by Director General of NAG, YBhg Dato’ Mohd Yusof Ahmad on Wednesday, 7th July 2010.
ARTRIANGLE is organized by MATAHATI group and managed by HOM (House of MATAHATI) collaborate with the National Art Gallery. It showcases the latest artworks from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines. It aims to increase the appreciation of art in Southeast Asia through a more open network of exchange and inculcate closer working ties amongst these artists. It aspires to energise an open dialogue between these countries and generate a more meaningful art discourse.
ARTRIANGLE is also a fund-raising exhibition which channels its proceeds from the sales of the artworks to the MATAHATI Art Fund - an endeavour to provide financial help in providing funds that support visual artists and the arts in the region.
The Artriangle 2010 exhibition has a total of 128 artists involved, ranging from 84 artists from Malaysia, 20 from Indonesia, 14 from the Philippines and 10 from Singapore. The exhibition will be taking place for a month starting from 7th July until 7th August 2010 (10.00am - 6.00pm) and it is open to public every day. Admission is free.
Besides the exhibition, there will be an Art Talk at Gallery 3B, National Art Gallery. The schedules are as below:
